Friday_Fill-In_BadgeHere are the fill-ins:

1. The Winter Olympics _____.
2. I think the most romantic movie (or book) is _____.
3. Recently, I had an odd experience when _____.
4. I believe that love _____.

Here are my responses:

The Winter Olympics isn’t something that I will be watching, but of the sports involved, figure skating is my favorite. I wish that I could do that!

The most romantic movie or book is a difficult one for me. I don’t really get into romance movies or books. So, I took a different perspective on the word “romantic”.

Merriam-Webster has this as one of the definitions of “romantic”:

4 a : marked by the imaginative or emotional appeal of what is heroic, adventurous, remote, mysterious, or idealized

With that definition in mind, I chose two of my favorite Christmas holiday movies: It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street. Both meet the definition above AND include the more traditional view of romance, with the lead characters being either engaged or married by the end of the movies.

I can’t really think of an “odd” experience lately, other than one that was incredibly embarrassing. I have been visited (walked in on) in the bathroom a zillion times over the last 30+ years, since we started having babies. While David was at the nursing home, a young man that I did NOT issue forth walked in on me. That was odd in that it has never happened before. With any luck, it will never happen again!

I believe that love can be at first sight. That is how it worked for me! The first time I looked across the courtyard and saw David’s eyes looking back across the courtyard, I knew I loved him. I was just too terrified to talk to him. haha
